On 25 May 2025, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province marked the completion of a Muay Thai professional coaching program with a certificate ceremony held in Hua Hin, aiming to strengthen the sport’s development and economic potential through soft power.
A total of 43 participants successfully completed a professional Muay Thai coaching course and received B-License certificates during a closing ceremony at Hua Hin Grand Hotel and Plaza. The event was part of a broader initiative by Thailand’s Sports Authority, through the Office of the Boxing Sports Commission, to elevate Muay Thai coaching standards
The course, which ran from 16 to 25 May 2025, brought together 50 trainees from various provinces across the country. Delivered by experienced and nationally recognized experts, the training covered both theoretical knowledge and practical instruction, aimed at enhancing coaching competencies aligned with national standards.
This initiative, now in its 11th intake, was established to support the long-term development of Muay Thai by improving the capabilities of coaches and ensuring a unified training approach across Thailand and beyond. The B-License program has been conducted since the 2008 fiscal year, reflecting an ongoing commitment to preserving and globalizing the national sport.
Officials emphasized that licensed coaches not only play a vital role in nurturing athletes but also contribute to the sustainability of Muay Thai as a career path. By equipping trainers with certified skills, the program aligns with Thailand’s broader policy to promote the sport as part of its cultural soft power strategy.
Speaking at the event, Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Sitthichai Sawatsan highlighted that quality coaching is essential for advancing Muay Thai and maintaining its competitive and cultural integrity. He expressed confidence in the graduates’ ability to carry their knowledge into professional practice both domestically and internationally.
Also in attendance were representatives from the Sports Authority of Thailand, local government officials, and regional media professionals, underscoring the significance of the program in the province’s sports development agenda.
