A steel bar fell from an elevated construction site onto a moving vehicle on Rama 2 Road in Samut Sakhon on the evening of June 7, 2025, prompting concerns over ongoing safety hazards in the area.

At approximately 10:07 a.m. on June 8, 2025, local media reported that an incident involving falling construction debris occurred the previous evening on Phra Ram 2 Road, near Central Mahachai in Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province. A white Isuzu pickup truck, driven by a Bangkok resident, was traveling in the express lane at around 60 kilometers per hour when a steel rod, approximately 20 centimeters in length, struck the vehicle’s front windshield with significant force.
The impact shattered the glass, causing panic among the driver and a passenger, both of whom escaped injury. The vehicle was immediately pulled over to the roadside, and after inspecting the damage, the occupants suspected the metal bar had fallen from an overhead construction zone. They proceeded to the Samut Sakhon City Police Station to officially report the incident.

Incidents involving falling debris and unsafe road conditions have repeatedly raised safety concerns along Rama 2 Road, a major artery undergoing frequent construction. Past accidents include fatalities caused by soil subsidence and collapsing concrete, leading to heightened scrutiny from engineers and public officials.
Following the latest report, the on-duty officer at the police station coordinated with the construction contractor to initiate contact with the vehicle owner to address compensation for the damages.
