Thailand Set to Face Vietnam in U19 Girls Final

Date:

Thailand’s U19 women’s national football team will face Vietnam in the final match of the ASEAN U19 Girls’ Championship 2025, scheduled to take place at 6:30pm on Wednesday, June 18, at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Thailand advanced to the final after a commanding 5-1 win over Myanmar in the semifinal round. Vietnam secured their place by defeating Indonesia 4-0, setting up a regional showdown between two of Southeast Asia’s strongest youth teams.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Thai head coach Nuengrutai Srathongwian expressed confidence in her squad, noting that all players are fit and ready. She described the match as a valuable opportunity for the young athletes to gain experience, particularly against a team she described as the tournament’s most seasoned.

Nuengrutai emphasized that her team has studied Vietnam’s playing style and identified two key players for special attention in the match. She also acknowledged the competitive nature of the final, stating that success would depend on minimizing errors and maintaining strong rhythm throughout the game.

“This will be a challenging match,” she said. “Our players have the opportunity to create lasting memories, regardless of the conditions on the field.”

Officials and coaching staff from both teams have been preparing their squads for what is expected to be a tightly contested fixture. The final will be played at the same stadium where both semifinal matches were held earlier this week.
