Third Suspect Caught in 3.4M Baht Bangkok Robbery

Date:

Bangkok police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the 3.4-million-baht armed robbery at Central Ladprao’s car park, apprehending him in Nonthaburi after he fell from a rooftop while attempting to escape early on 2 July 2025.

Investigators from the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) tracked the suspect, identified only as Nonthawat, also known by the alias “Song,” to a residence in Bang Sri Muang subdistrict, Nonthaburi Province. The arrest took place around 1:30 a.m.

According to police, the suspect attempted to flee by climbing onto the roof but lost his footing and fell. He sustained injuries and was transferred to Phra Nang Klao Hospital, where he remains under police guard pending legal proceedings.

The arrest follows a robbery that occurred at 7:30 p.m. on 30 June in the parking lot of Central Ladprao shopping mall, located in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district. Seven armed assailants reportedly held three individuals at knifepoint while they were exchanging 3.4 million baht in cash for approximately 100,000 USDT (Tether) cryptocurrency.

Two other suspects—identified only as Sherpat, 25, and Nana, 31—were arrested the day before at a resort in Lat Lum Kaeo district of Pathum Thani. They face charges of nighttime armed robbery using a vehicle.

Pol Lt Gen Sayam Boonsom, head of the MPB, confirmed that four additional suspects remain at large as the investigation continues.
