Hua Hin opens first social assistance center

On February 14, 2022, the Sub-District Social Assistance Center was officially opened to provide social welfare services for the elderly, the handicapped, and the disadvantaged in Hua Hin.

Mr. Kom Krit Charoen Phatthana Sombat, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, said that this Hua Hin Municipality Social Assistance Center is the first one-stop assistance center in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, which is ready to tackle all areas such as the elderly issues, family violence, children and youth issues, drugs, and poverty. The center will facilitate people to have access to social welfare thoroughly, conveniently, and quickly, which improves people’s quality of life, and is in line with the mission “Prachuap Khiri Khan, volunteer-minded people, warm families, healthy communities, youth development, and children of all ages, care for the elderly and vulnerable groups.”

Social Assistance Center is one of the departments under Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The sample work the ministry in Hua Hin Municipality has been standing for the people in the city is aiding the elderly who are in difficult conditions, live alone, and face insufficient income for living, monitoring inappropriate acts of youth, rescuing victims from human trafficking, improving housing for the vulnerable group, facilitating default debtors, etc.
