Fake website targets Thailand digital arrival card users

Date:

A fraudulent website mimicking Thailand’s new Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) platform has emerged on the very day the official system was launched for foreign visitors on 1 May 2025. The counterfeit site, falsely presenting itself as an authorized third-party service provider, solicits a processing fee of USD 10, although the legitimate service is free of charge.

The TDAC system has replaced the former paper-based TM6 arrival cards and is now mandatory for all foreign nationals entering Thailand by air, land, or sea. Travellers are required to complete their information online through the official TDAC website and will receive a confirmation email, which should be presented upon entry into the country.

Amid questions surrounding application deadlines, the Immigration Bureau clarified that submissions can be made within three days prior to a traveller’s arrival, but not earlier. This clarification addresses earlier, incorrect reports suggesting applications had to be filed at least three days before entry.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports stated that the system is fully operational, with contingency plans in place to ensure smooth processing. During the initial rollout, travellers facing difficulties can opt to use a temporary paper immigration form. In addition, computer terminals have been set up at Suvarnabhumi Airport’s immigration area for visitors needing to complete the TDAC form on arrival.

Officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Immigration Bureau were present during the system’s launch to oversee its initial implementation and assist travellers encountering issues.
