More than half of the automobile and tyre center that is being built in the Eastern Economic Corridor has been finished as of this point, and it is anticipated that the center will be completely operational in the year 2026. The government of Thailand has high expectations that this plant would establish Thailand as a leading worldwide manufacturing hub for electric automobiles.
The Automotive and Tyre Testing, Research and Innovation Center (ATTRIC) is designed to enhance the production quality of automotive goods, components, and tyres, in addition to serving as a center for learning and the transmission of technological information.
Following clearance from the Cabinet for the Ministry of Industry to establish this facility in conjunction with the Thai Industrial Standards Institute, the ATTRIC project was presented to the public for the first time (TISI) in 2016.
Anucha Burapachaisri, a spokesperson for the Thai government, stated that this initiative will help make Thailand one of the primary manufacturing hubs for electric vehicles in the world, in addition to creating chances for the transfer of expertise and the creation of jobs.
According to him, the center would increase the quality of Thai autos and components as well as their competitiveness, which will enable local manufacturers to acquire recognition and acceptance on a worldwide scale.
